The earliest image here is of Daniel PAtrick Moynihan, whom I photographed as a “candidate” for the Harvard Crimson, in 1967. He was a bit peeved that they had not sent an “accredited” staffer but I think my short grey wool skirt with white piping won him over, and he offered me a candy from the big jar on his desk. Did I dream it or did he tell me he liked looking at the girls in mini-skirts from the window of his Brattle street office? The latest photographs are of the Student-Faculty meeting at Lowell House common room to discuss investments in South Africa, and of the towering John Kenneth Galbraith voting. Wondering why no women? In my four years 1965-1969, I had not one women professor or teaching assistant. No wonder I didn’t go into academics….
